- Frances (Davis) Bouchard, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep after a long illness on Friday, January 19, 2018, at the Barron Center in Portland.
She was born on May 28, 1931, in Fort Fairfield, the only daughter of the late Arch and Mabel (Taylor) Davis. She was predeceased by her loving husband, George.
Mrs. Bouchard was a graduate of the Aroostook State Teacher's College. She was a fifth grade teacher at Fort Fairfield Grammar and Middle Schools for more than 30 years. She was communicant and choir member at the Bethel Baptist Church. Upon her retirement from teaching, she and George relocated to Portland, where she became very active as a volunteer in the local school system and the Baptist church in Westbrook.
Frances enjoyed collecting antiques (and the treasure hunting associated), researching local history and genealogy, and took great amusement from finding something famous about her ancestors. She loved cats, tales from the county, and Red Sox baseball. She took great pride and pleasure in her family and was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Bouchard is survived by a son, Peter Bouchard and his wife, Sharon, of Lunenburg, Mass., a daughter, Holly Glidden and her husband, Stephen, of Westbrook; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Jones Rich & Barnes Funeral Home, 199 Woodford St., Portland. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Ft. Fairfield, at a later date. Please visit www.jonesrichandhutchins.com for additional information and to sign Mrs. Bouchard's online guest book.
