KINGFIELD - Our Dad, Grampa, Everett Jordan, 92, died peacefully on Tuesday, June 24th with his family by his side.
Born September 3rd, 1921 in Manchester, New Hampshire to Fred and Ada Jordan. Everett served in the Army during WWII. On July 29th, 1950 he married the love of his life Evangeline Verney Jordan.
He lived the majority of his life in Kingfield, Maine where he and Evangeline bought their "home" in 1957. They founded Jordan Lumber Company, which has been serving Maine since 1968. During his retirement years he enjoyed the lovely house they built in Cape Coral, Florida.
Everett will be especially remembered for many of his achievements, besides his passion for work, his love for hunting and fishing, his successful businesses, and love for baseball. In his younger years he was in the baseball farm league as a left handed pitcher for which he received $25.oo a game. He was called up by the Red Sox majors, but could not accept because he was drafted for World War II.
Everett is predeceased by his wife Evangeline Verney Jordan (died July 12th 2009). He is survived by his children Judith McVety and her husband, George of Cape Coral, Florida, Everett Jr. and his wife Gloria, of Rye, New Hampshire, Jane Talbot and her husband, Jim of Falmouth, Maine, Suzanne Dunham and her husband Rodney, Richard and his wife Vanessa, Leslie and his partner, Donna Miller, Jonathan and his wife Kim all of Kingfield, Maine.
His Grandchildren, Vance and Bruce Jordan, Karen, Peter and Amy McVety, Tanya and Tasha Talbot, Chelcey, Alex, Morgan and Gregory Dunham, Jennifer, Jessica, Justin, Kyle, Stacy, Taylor Sue, Katie Beth and Jonathan Barry Jordan. Along with his grandchildren Everett has 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Everett and Evangeline's home on 74 Maple Street, Kingfield, Maine on Sunday June 29th at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, people that knew dad best are asked to bring a pair of white socks that will be donated to the Veterans.
