I was saddened to learn of Ethan’s passing. I remember the first day we met in the Presque Isle USDA Office in the early 1970’s. Our paths crossed many times over the years while working for USDA. Ethan was a family man, had a heart of gold, and made a difference in the lives of many rural families in Maine. God Bless!

We are surprised and saddened to learn of Ethan's passing. Having had the opportunity to work with Ethan for many years with both FmHA and the Farm Service Agency, I knew him to care deeply for you, Elsie, and the boys and it was obvious how very proud he was of all of his family.
There are many farmers throughout Maine that benefited from his knowledge of financing and his sincere caring for their efforts to make a living for them and their families. He was a good man, father and son of Maine and Aroostook.
God bless all of the family. We will miss him.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Ethan's passing. He was our neighbor on "the lake" and we truly enjoyed our time with him and Elsie. Ethan was a wonderful individual with a great sense of humor, we have had so many laughs with him and Elsie, we will surely miss those special times. We kept and eye on each others properties and helped each other out when needed. They always had a big celebration around the 4th of July with all of their family, and they had the best barbequed chicken!! Our deepest condolences to Elsie, Evan and Eric and all of their family members. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all. Love, Barbara and Rob.

Ethan was my first County Supervisor when I started with FmHA 25 years ago. He was a great teacher, both of the job and how to weather the difficulties around it. He was a good man, honest and fair in all his dealings with clients, staff and leadership. I'm very sorry for your loss.
