CAMDEN & SAN DIEGO, CA - Elsie F. Kaler, 74, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015.
Elsie was born in Newburgh, August 5, 1941, the daughter of Edgar and Flora Ames. She married Sidney Kaler on May 2, 1998, and lived for many years in Camden, where she worked as a caregiver. She also lived in Pittsfield, where she raised her two sons, Rick and Nick, with her former husband, Richard Wells. In April 2014, she moved to San Diego, California with her oldest son, Rick, and his family.
Elsie was a member of the Harmony Bible Church in South Thomaston, where she played the accordion. She loved music and animals, and enjoyed following national politics. She was known as a very kind and generous woman who greatly valued family and friendship.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Kaler; youngest son, Nick Wells; and brother, Harold Ames.
Elsie is survived by her oldest son, Rick Wells; daughter in law, Veronica Juarez-Wells; grandson, Ricky Wells; former husband, Richard Wells and wife Natalie Cressy-Wells; three sister in laws and their extended family; and many cherished cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Harmony Bible Church in South Thomaston on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 1:00 pm. A graveside service at the Pilgrims Home Cemetery in Winterport will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 am.
