MILBRIDGE - Elliot D. Cirone, known to his family and friends as "Eddie" passed away on July 28th, at MCMH Ellsworth.

Surrounded by his loving family, Eddie had been disabled by a massive stroke nearly two years ago and has been a resident at NBHCF where he shared a room with Larry Beal.

Eddie is survived by his wife Donna of Milbridge, his daughter Cheri Oliver and her partner Kevin Shaw of South Addison. His son Charlie and wife Coreen of Norton, Mass. Also his step children which he thought of as his own Alfred Jordon and his wife Pam of Milbridge. Donita Whitehead and her husband Greg of Gouldsboro and Harry Jordan of Milbridge who had become not only his son but his best friend. Together Eddie and Harry had built Harry's boat the "Captain Ed", which was a surprise and pride of his life.

Eddie was born in Jonesport on July 31, 1931 to Charles E. and Susie McPherson Cirone. He is also survived by his sisters MaryEllen Gaudette and her husband Philip of Centerville, Charlene Reynolds and her husband Douglas of South Addison and Claire Kennedy and her husband Walter of Harrington, and his brother Deane Cirone and his wife Carolee of South Addison. Also by twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-children and many nieces and nephews. Eddie was predeceased by his parents, brother Kenneth Cirone, niece Susan Bjornson Willey, step-daughter Viki Jordan Smith and son-in-law Stephen Oliver.

Eddie was a lobster fisherman and buyer for many years and served his country in the Navy from 1952-1956.

Remembrance service will be Sept. 5 at 2 p.m. on the Jordan Pier, Milbridge. In the event of inclement weather the services will be held at Milbridge Elementary School with Owen Beal officiating, followed by a get together at Ed and Donna's home at 21 Riverside Lane, Milbridge.

His family wishes to express their gratitude for all the help they have received during his illness. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NBHCF, Milbridge towards their recreation fund.
