Elaine G. (Treadwell) Wade

Orono Elaine G. (Treadwell) Wade, 91, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018, at Orono Commons. She was born on November 11, 1926, in Orono, to Marguerite R. Starbird and Lyndon J. Treadwell.
Elaine graduated from Orono High School. She married Jerald Wade on April 14, 1983. They enjoyed 35 wonderful years together. Elaine worked in the Orono School Lunch program and in sales at Campus Cards in Orono. In later years, she volunteered at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Her family knew her best as a wonderful grandmother and Nana. She loved to stencil and paint, and also loved all things country motif and antique. She was a good cook, using recipes from Maine Rebekahs Cookbook, like her famous peanut butter fudge, pecan pie, and chicken pot pie.
Elaine was predeceased by her brothers, Lydon Treadwell Jr., and Arthur Treadwell. Surviving are her husband, Jerry of Bangor; her brother, Jim Treadwell and his wife, Carol, or Orono, and her sister, Verda LeClair of Bangor; her son, Stephen Powers and his partner, Faye Thibeault, ofWinterport, her son, Donald Powers and his wife, Jewel, of Orono, and her daughter, Sharon Hendry and her husband, Jim, of Spanks, NV; her daughter-in-law, Penny Dugay and her husband, Steve, of Byron, ME; her grandchildren, Matt Powers, Seth Powers, Courtney Campbell, Eric Powers, Jennifer Underwood, Chris O'Donnell, Patrick O'Donnell, Matt Dugay, Jessica Dugay, and Kelly Scott, as well as many great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Orono Commons and Beacon Hospice for their care and compassion to Elaine.
Gifts in her memory may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 MT. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME. Per Elaine's request, there will be no memorial service, and interment will be at Orono's Riverside Cemetery.
