SANGERVILLE - Edward A. "Eddie" Desmond, 68, died unexpectedly at his home in Sangerville, September 17, 2015. He was born March 22, 1947, in Salem, MA, the son of Gerald and Rita (Pelletier) Desmond Sr.
Following High School he served in the U.S. Navy. After the service Eddie served the state of Massachusetts as a State Trooper, retiring as a Sergeant after 25 years. In 1995 he and his wife moved to Maine where they owned and operated Desmond's Variety Store in Guilford for 13 years. He enjoyed bass fishing and playing pool with his buddies.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marlene (Tarsook) Desmond of Sangerville; a son, Craig Desmond of Bucksport; a son, Edward Desmond Jr. of CO and his daughters, Rachael and Sabrina; a son, Shawn Desmond Sr. and his sons, Ryan, Shawn Jr., and Ethan of CT; a son, Christopher Desmond and his wife, Nikki and their children, Jade, Sammy, and Tanner of CT; a son, Patrick Desmond of CO; a stepson, Richard Tarsook and his children, Brody, Cooper, Ella, and Max, all of Guilford; brothers, Gerald Desmond Jr. of NY, and Michael Desmond and his wife, Jeannie and their son, Connor of WY; and his favorite mother-in-law, Yolande Tarsook of Guilford.
