Dylan Richard Miles

June 06, 1996 - January 29, 2019

Old Town - Dylan was a 2014 graduate of Old Town High School, where he played both baseball and football- but football was his life. After high school, he joined the Air National Guard. Dylan was a hard worker and could fix anything. He was always handy when working on vehicles. A true country boy at heart, Dylan loved to go four wheeling and mud-running, and was always up for a ride on his motorcycle. Dylan was always rooting for the Patriot's to win. He loved spending time at his grandfather's camp on Stetson Pond and the 4th of July at Lamoine Beach State Park. Dylan enjoyed going hunting with his dad and his grandfather, as well as spending time with his friends. He was a good kid with a huge heart, always ready to lend a helping hand or stand up for the underdog. He loved life, his family and friends, but his grandparents always held a special place in his heart.
Dylan is survived by his mother, Kristi Doughty and her fiancé, Bill Noyes of Old Town; father, George Miles and step-mother Debbie of Orono; sister, Ashley Burgess-Miles of Old Town; grandparents, Janet and Roy Thurston, and Richard and Pat Doughty; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special nieces, Kiairah and Aidriana; special cousin, Riley Colgan; and dear friends, Melissa Hudak, Jacob Earl, RT Higgins, and Brandon Emerson. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Sharron Doughty; and uncle, Rodney Thurston.

So very sad and sorry for the loss of your son. Know that so many of us parents are grieving with you, those who have lost their own children to addiction and those who are afraid to. Thank you for sharing that part of his story with us, it does make a difference, it will help someone else.

Time has never erased my memories of Dylan. He arrived at the Lewis Libby School as a middle school student with a contagious smile. Dylan's kind and gentle spirit helped him connect with students and staff immediately.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends and all who were touched by his life.

I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Dylan obviously enjoyed many things and being outside enjoying creation. It is never easy to loose someone you love especially when so young.
I too have lost someone very close recently and have found the words at revelation 21:4 to be very encouraging. This tells us in part, that "God will wipe every tear from their eyes and death will be no more." This is a promise for the future. You may be wondering what hope there is for ones who have already passed, feel free to visit JW.ORG for a comforting bible message.
May you have the strength you need to endure during this very difficult time.
