East Millinocket - Douglas Segee, 89, East Millinocket, died at home on January 5, 2019. Doug was born in Millinocket in 1929 to Alex and Ruby (Rogers) Segee. He graduated from Stearns High School in 1947 where he was senior class president and a football star.
After marrying Jean (Stratton) in 1949, he spent the rest of his life in East Millinocket. Doug was a police officer for East Millinocket until he accepted a job with security at the Great Northern Paper Company where he worked until he retired.
Doug was a long time volunteer firefighter, a deacon and trustee of the First Congregational Church, a Mason and Past Master of Nollesemic Lodge #205 and a Provost Guard, Anah Temple Shriners among many other activities.
Doug is survived by daughter Susan (Morrow) and her husband Darrell, son Carl and his wife Diana, son Bruce and his wife Cathy, and son-in-law Douglas Fiske and his wife Diane. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Jean, and a daughter, Sandra (Fiske). Doug and Jean have 9 grandchildren, Karen Stanley, Brian Fiske, Jeff, Jon and Sarah Morrow, Molly Segee-Cowan, Jamie, Ben and Sam Segee, and 6 great-grandchildren, Derrick, Zachary, Emma and Alyssa Stanley and Gabriel and Isabel Fiske, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Doug is also survived by his sister, Anita Moscone, and his brother-in-law, Ralph Stratton. The family wants to thank Doug's caregivers for the past months, Anita Moscone, Cathy King and Jamie and Laurel Segee.
A celebration of life will be held at First Congregational Church, UCC in East Millinocket on Saturday, January 12. Visiting hours will begin at 9:30 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or the Shriner's Burn Hospital, in care of Anah Shriner's 1404 Broadway Bangor Maine 04401. For online condolences please visit

Such a special guy. So thankful to reside next to this special family at camp. And, so thankful for the plane ride this Fall that took Doug up into the sky on a beautiful,,perfect, unforgettable day. Fly high Doug. Condolences to all the family.

Condolences to the family at this time. Doug and his late wife were huge part of the church I grew up in. Many memories of the advent workshop and Doug's smiles always lit up the spaghetti dinner after crafts and singing. Rest in peace.
