BANGOR - Douglas Roy Hanson, 49, died unexpectedly July 18, 2015. He was born in Bangor to Reginald and Julia (Roy) Hanson.

Doug graduated from Bangor High School in 1985. He loved playing sports, especially baseball. He was a born again Christian and a member of many church groups, including the Salvation Army, where he was a bell ringer during the Christmas season for many years. Doug was a dedicated attendee of the Mansion Church.

Doug was predeceased by his parents. He will be greatly missed by sister Rebecca Georgia and husband Mark, and their children Nicholas and Aimee; half-brother Joseph Hanson and wife Marion, and children Sarah and Megan; aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Robert Payton; "adopted" aunt and uncle Irma and the late Pud Pinkham; and his many friends from Mansion Church.

Family and friends may visit 11 AM - 1 PM Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor where a service honoring Doug's life will be held at the conclusion of visitation. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mansion Church, 63 Columbia St., Bangor, ME 04401.
