- Dorothy M. 'Bette' Leeming, 91, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on October 18, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice in Port Orange, FL, with family by her side. Bette was born on March 27, 1926, in Southport, England, to William and Doris Wright.
Bette met the love of her life, John C. Leeming in Southport, and they married in 1951. They decided to make a leap of faith, and moved the family from England to Brewer, Maine, in 1962. Bette always said Brewer was the best place to raise a family, she wouldn't have traded those years for anything.
After the children were grown, John and Bette decided to retire to Florida full time. They found a lovely home in Port Orange, and enjoyed the year round nice weather. They were thankful that their children and grandchildren were able to visit so often.
Bette was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 60 years, John, and her oldest daughter, Diane.
She is survived by her four children, John, Susan, Elizabeth, and Howard and their families. She is also survived by her dear sisters, Brenda and Margaret and their families. She dearly loved all her family and friends, and treasured all the time she got to spend with each of them.
Per Bette's request, there will be no services.
