Doris's Story

Text size

One hundred years ago during a time when most babies under five pounds died. You came into this world weighing only three pounds and survived.
You learned to read at age three and read to your mother as she lost her sight.
In school you were promoted from first grade to grade three because of your ability to read. You graduated at age sixteen and went on to Northfield prep school and then to Bridgewater teachers college, eventually getting a masters in library science. You've instilled a love of reading in many people. You worked at Boston Public Library and at Boyden Library in Foxborough, MA.
You married and had seven children who miss you very much.
