- Donna P. Melville, 72, of Norway, formerly of Baileyville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Stephens Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born in Norway, May 17, 1945, the daughter of Ivan H. and Ann Culbert Proctor.
Donna graduated from West Paris High School in the class of 1964, and in her younger years, worked at Ledgewood Motel in Norway and in local shoe shops. She had worked as a nanny, as a homemaker, and as seasonal help at L.L. Bean. She was a member of the Goodwill Fellowship at West Paris Universalist Church, American Legion Auxiliary # 23 in Baileyville, where she was past unit president and Town and Country Community Association. She enjoyed scrapbooking and photography, as well as the time spent with her family. On August 5, 1967, she married Owen Melville.
Survivors include her husband of Norway; a son, Dennis and his wife, Pamela of Pittsboro, N.C.; 2 grandsons, Tyler and Zackary of Pittsboro, N.C.; a sister, Donita St. John and her husband, Jim of South Paris; brother, Ivan Proctor, Jr. of So. Paris; and sister, Dorene Merrill and her husband, Raymond of Waterford; nieces and nephews, Shelley Johnson and husband, Fred, Michelle Brown and husband, Russell, Benjamin Merrill and wife, Katelynn, Jason Merrill and wife, Jasmine, Elizabeth Stevens and husband, Chris; and several grandnieces and nephews; her special friend Jeannette Millett; cousin, Beryl Bonney; 2'nd mom, Elayne Necchi of Colorado; friends, Gary and Norma Bell, Rodney Toothaker and Jeanne Miller. She was predeceased by her friend, Kathy Benson.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 9th at 11am at the Universalist Church, Main Street, West Paris.
