AFTON, VA - Donna L. (Grenier) Lavaway of Afton, VA, 62, passed away peacefully in her home on March 14, 2016, with her husband Dennis Lavaway by her side. She was born in Waterville on March, 26 1953, daughter of Ross and Norma Grenier of Mapleton.
She was born and raised in Northern Maine attending Presque Isle High School, she moved to Virginia in 1992, where she worked as Office Manager at Runk Dining Hall at the University of Virginia College for the past 21 years where she was highly recognized. She loved boating, fishing, feeding birds, the outdoors (especially moose), and can not forget Jeff Gordon! "Go 24!!" She was a wonderful person with a huge heart and a giant soul. She loved her family beyond words, most of all she was a wonderful Mom. "Mumma"
She is survived by her husband Dennis Lavaway "Denny" (as she would say), her parents Ross and Norma Grenier, her three children: Blaze DeCarlo, Mark DeCarlo and his wife Ingrid, and her daughter Leslie DeCarlo, also four step children: Neil, Mason, Nick and Jake Lavaway. She was a proud grand mother of many: Taylor, Morgan, Adin, Brittney, Briana, Orrin, Jesson, Morgan, Dillon, Katelyn, Celeste and Xander, and a great-granddaughter "Isabella." She is also survived by her siblings: Debra Jackson, Diane Aniolowski, Danny Grenier and Darlene Leach and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is predeceased by her sister Denise L. Hill
Per her request there will be no services.
