LAMOINE - LAMOINE - Donna Marie (Hopkins) Fennelly, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died suddenly while shopping in Ellsworth late Sunday morning, January 3, 2016. Donna, 78, was born in Franklin, Maine on 15 March 1937, daughter of Edwin Thomas Hopkins, Jr. and Catharine Elvie Cousins, deceased.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Richard E. Fennelly, Sr., on 17 May 2012 and is survived by her children, Richard Jr. and his wife Deirdre; Michael and his wife Diane; Chris; William; and Vicki, all of Lamoine; grandchildren Brandi (Kimball) Candage, Brynn (Kimball) McAllian, Cassina Kimball, Sarah Fennelly, Katrina Fennelly, Kristi Fennelly, Shawn MacGregor, Jacob Fennelly, Angelique Longstaff, Richard Fennelly III, Nathan Fennelly, Amanda (Fennelly) Slater, several great-grandchildren; and half-brothers Bruce Abbott and wife Linda, of Franklin, and Brian Abbott and wife Donna, of Franklin, and their many children and grandchildren. She was also pre-deceased by her step-brother, Shannon Abbott, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, and family members.
Friends and family are invited to share conversation and refreshments at a celebration of her life at the Elks Lodge at 317 High Street in Ellsworth, Maine at 2:00 PM on Sunday 10 January 2016. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the East Lamoine Cemetery Association, 274 Jordan River Road, Lamoine, ME 04605. A private family interment service will take place next spring at the East Lamoine Cemetery.
