Brewer and Augusta
- Donald Morin, 85, died March 5, 2017, at his residence after a long illness. He was born in Augusta on October 3, 1931, the son of Emile and Leah (Daniels) Morin.
Don was one of 12 children. He was married to Sylvia Ashland from Belgrade in 1951. Don served in the Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Kirshner Meat Company for 20 years and Jordan Meats for 22 more. Don was a family man; very proud of his family and was always there to guide and help them. He enjoyed teaching his children fishing, hunting, and camping at the boathouse. Woodworking was his hobby and he enjoyed making many things for the family. He gave much of his time in building and whatever work was needed to help others.
Don will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by: his wife, Sylvia; daughter, Vicki-Lynn and her husband Dr. Blaine Littlefield of Brunswick; daughter, Gayle and Gary of Bangor; son, Bruce of Millinocket. He is also survived by grandchildren: Sheridon Gove and her husband, William; Nicholas Littlefield and his wife, Maureen; great grandchildren, Oliver and Emeric Gove; brothers Raymond of S. Portland, Emile Jr and wife Gisele of Augusta, and Nelson and wife Diane of California and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Don was predeceased by his son, Donald Jr., his parents, four brothers and four sisters.
At his request there will be no visiting hours. A Roman Catholic Mass will be celebrated in memory of Donald at St. Mary's Church on Western Avenue in Augusta, Maine, on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.
