Dexter's Story

Text size

ARLINGTON, MA - Dexter Deane Young, infant son of Eric Mosher and Danielle Tardiff Young, became their guardian angel Thursday, March 26th at a Cambridge Massachusetts hospital.

On August 26th Eric and Danielle discovered that they were pregnant with Dexter and were beyond happy. Dexter knew nothing but love. While his time was so very short, Dexter still traveled to Spain in September and Texas in November with his parents. Dexter's first movements were felt while driving to eat delicious Texas BBQ. As time

went on, it was obvious how much he loved hearing music and his brother's and parents' voices.

We, his parents, are taking comfort in the knowledge that every child is a gift from God on loan to us. The name 'Dexter' means right-handed, and, though it was not our intent, we now see this as a sign that he is at the right hand of God with our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are grateful for every moment we had to be Dexter's parents. While our memories of him are so few, we will cherish them until we get to be with him again. As is written in I Corinthians 13:8a, "Love never ends."

Dexter is survived by his parents, Eric and Danielle Young of Brewer and residing in Arlington, MA; his brother, Fletcher James Young; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Margaret Young of Brewer; his

maternal grandparents, Deborah Deane of Brewer and Louis Tardiff of Brewer; great-grandparents Abbott and Kay Mosher of Gorham; great-grandmother Reta Young of Gorham; great-grandfather Larry Deane

of Winterport; aunt and uncle Yvette Tardiff and Michael Hart of Maynard, MA; aunt Kristine Tardiff of Brewer; uncle Joshua Young of Brewer; uncle Ryan Young of Brewer; aunt, uncle, and cousin Joline, Ethan, and Landon Brown of Bangor; aunt and cousin Michelle Tardiff Melanson and Kyler Melanson of Moncton, NB, Canada; aunt Jennifer Rzechula and children of Virginia. Dexter will be greatly missed by many other great aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends all over the country and the world.

Dexter was predeceased by his paternal

great-grandfather, Carroll E. Young of Gorham; his maternal great-grandmother, Roberta Coyne Deane of Winterport; and his maternal great-grandparents, Louis and Margaret Louise Tardiff of Brewer.

A memorial service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Gorham on May 30th at 2:30pm.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to any of the

following: The Colby Fund (babyalligatortears.com), or the March of Dimes (www.marchofdimes.org).
