- Deborah L. (O'Hearon) Wing, 86, died October 13, 2017, at Eastern Maine Medical Center. Deborah "Debbie" was born in Bangor on April 16, 1931, the daughter of James and Ella (Bulmer) O'Hearon.
While growing up in Hampden she met and married her husband, Ernest G. Wing. They married in 1947 and later moved to Blue Hill with their four children.
For those who knew Debbie best knew she was an active community member. For many years Debbie and her husband Ernie were active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Debbie served as Den Mother and served on the Board of Katahdin Area Counsel of Boy Scouts. For the old time locals of the Blue Hill Fair - Debbie was known for her running her Spin Paint Booth for over 20 years bringing joy to many fair goers. For over 25 years, Debbie volunteered at the voting booths in Blue Hill - thanking people for coming out and having their vote be counted. In addition, Debbie was a long time member of the American Legion Auxiliary of the Duffy Wescott Post #85 serving as President for many years. She was also an active life-long member of the Halycon Grange in Blue Hill. In her recent years Debbie found comfort and friendship while participating in North Sedgwick Baptist Church.
Deborah is survived by her two daughters, Pearl Louise Gobel and Barbara Anne Eastman and husband, Robert all of Sedgwick; daughter-in-law, Laura Wing of Arizona; grandchildren, Gabrielle "Gabby" Savage and husband, Tom of Massachusetts, Sarah Falvey of Hancock County, Alexander Knight of Ellsworth, Brent and Ann Wing of Arizona; great-grandchildren, Tevin and Tessa Falvey. Debbie was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Ernest Wing; their two sons, Paul and Garry Wing; sisters, Mary P. O'Hearon and Margaret McLaughlin.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. October 28, 2017, at the Mountain View Cemetery, Blue Hill. After the service a Celebration of Life will be held at the American Legion Hall in Blue Hill.
