Bangor - Dawn Marie (Hughes) D'Errico, 57, of Bangor, Maine, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side January 16, 2017.
Dawn was born and raised in Bangor by her parents the late William T. Hughes, Jr. and Loretta (Russell) Hughes of Clearwater, FL. Dawn is survived by her husband Brigadier General (Ret) John D'Errico.
At the age of 17 with her parents' blessing she moved to Oklahoma while he attended flight school. This was the start of 40 wonderful years together. They were inseparable until her passing.
She was predeceased by her father William, brother Patrick, and Mother in law Catherine D'Errico.
Dawn and John made their home on Meadowbrook Road in Bangor. They spent many happy times at the cottage in Deer Isle and retirement home at Sugarloaf. Many fond memories of trips to Davis Pond with her nieces, Friday Night Family Dinners and Holiday gatherings. Dawn worked at Merrill Bank, Miller Drug, United Airlines, and the Bangor School System. We will miss her sense of humor, quick wit and she how found time to enjoy family, friends and life.
She is survived by two sisters Ellen Cox husband Charles of Bangor their children William Cox, Katie Sino husband Erald and son Owen of South Carolina, Rose Cox of Portland Me. Mary Jackson husband Steven and their children Erin of Texas, Melanie of Utah. Three brothers Michael Hughes wife Michelle of Brunswick, ME, and their children Jacob, Isaac, Emma. Thomas Hughes fiancée Emily Worden of Brewer Me and their children Zach, Eli, Abby, Olivia. William Hughes of Clearwater FL and his children Mary Alice, Racheal. Father in law Peter D'Errico, Brother and Sister in law Michael, Lissa and her children Catherine and Lucas Chavaree of Bangor Me. Life long friends Jeff and Nancy Fitch. Two beloved Jack Russell terriers Vega and Grisham.
The family would love to give special thanks to the wonderful staff from Visiting Angels. Also, thank you to Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, Lafayette Cancer Center, EMMC and The Maine Veteran's Home.
