SEABROOK, NH - David L. Patterson, Sr., 71, of Abbot, ME, died Friday, August 1, 2014 at his daughter's home in Seabrook surrounded by his family. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft, ME, June 5, 1943 a son of the late Everett L. and Hazel (McLaughlin) Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was employed as a mason for Zampell Refractories in Newburyport, Mass., for many years retiring in 2001. After his retirement he made his home in Abbot, ME moving there from Amesbury, Mass. He was a member of the Abbot Evangelical Free Church in Abbot, served on the Abbot Planning Board. In his earlier years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He shared 48 years of marriage with his wife, Tanya M. (Davis) Patterson.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his son, David L. Patterson, Jr. of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, three daughters, Sandy Ellison of Kingston, Lynette Cote and Sherry Cadell both of Seabrook, his sister, Darlene Durgin of Dover, ME and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Lloyd Patterson and his sister, Betty McCarthy.
Services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Abbot Evangelical Free Church in Abbot, ME. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Abbot Evangelical Free Church, Route 15, Abbot, ME 04406.
