David's Story

CHERRYFIELD - David Peter Mosher, 68 of Cherryfield Maine, husband and best friend of Maureen McSweeny Mosher passed away peacefully January 28, 2015 at EMMC with his family at his side. He was born November 13, 1946 in Duxbury Massachusetts to Francis and Harold Mosher. Peter loved and worked on the ocean his entire life; he also enjoyed spending his time working in the woods as well as in the garden with his grandchildren. Peter served in the United States Army and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. Peter was a commercial fisherman and spent many enjoyable years on the water from Maine to Florida. He was also a licensed steeple jack for years throughout New England. You could always find Peter looking forward to being outside and spending time with his beloved family in outdoor activities from camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. He will be missed by his man's best friend, Sam, usually found sitting at his feet. You could always find him enjoying his time feeding the birds and squirrels with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maureen; a son David (DP) of Cherryfield; Andrew and wife Angie of Bumpass Va.; Kathy and fiancé Reed of Cherryfield; Brian and companion Melissa of Cherryfield; Sarah of Thousand Oaks Ca.; 5 grandsons, Brendan, Thaddeus, Evan, Lucius and George; brother Harold of Massachusetts. He is predeceased by his mother, father and sister Nancy Mosher Allen.

A service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 3rd at Bragdon-Kelly in Milbridge Maine. A reception will follow at the American Legion Hall in Cherryfield Maine.
