David's Story

Text size

Veazie - David Leroy Jordan, 73, of Veazie, ME, passed peacefully early Friday, November 4, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. David was a thirty-year employee of Bangor Seat Cover until his retirement. An avid New York Yankees fan, David also enjoyed playing cribbage, hunting, bowling, and playing softball, where he was a great slow-pitch pitcher. David was a Civil War buff; he enjoyed watching movies about the Civil War, and particularly enjoyed a trip he made to Gettysburg, PA to see historical artifacts. In his later years, David enjoyed watching Western movies, spending time with his dogs, and playing cards with his family.

David had an infectious laugh when watching comedy shows, which brought much joy and laughter from his family. He will be profoundly missed by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Donna Jordan; his two beagles Max and Smokey; his three stepchildren, Melissa LeClair of Bradenton, FL, James Furlong of Augusta, GA, and Michelle King, of Worcester, MA; his grandchildren Ashley Furlong of Augusta, GA, Bethany Williamson of Augusta, GA, Brandon Welch of Winterport, ME, Mya Furlong of Augusta, GA, Oliver King of Worcester, MA; and his many great-grandchildren. David is also survived by his brother Herbert Jordan of Veazie, ME. David was predeceased by his parents Flora and Waldo (Coke) Jordan of Veazie, ME, his brother Parker Jordan of Veazie, ME, and his special beagle Danny.

At David's request there will be no services. Those wishing to remember David may make a donation to an organization very dear to him: Beagles of New England States, P.O. Box 1510, New Boston, NH 03070.

The family also wishes to thank the nursing and medical staff on the Sixth Floor, Cardiac Telemetry Unit at Eastern Maine Medical Center, and the staff of Hospice of Eastern Maine for the kindness, respect, and exceptional care they gave to David and his family during his final weeks.
