She was a positive, happy wonderful woman. My kids worshipped her and when passing by her home said with the deepest respect "that is the cake ladies house". She was one of a kind. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious.

So sorry to read about Darla. I would have many conversations with her as we stood in City Forest or the fields off Mt Hope,as our hound dogs would be taking their sweet time on their afternoon walks! I will miss seeing her while walking the dogs in the spring.

It was of a heavy heart that I learned of Darla's passing, she always had a smile and a good word and spoke dearly of her family. Rest in peace Darla.

I worked with Darla many years in the federal building in Bangor. She was such a special person and friend and I am so very sorry to hear of her passing. I am currently living in PA and we had planned a visit after I moved here from Maine. Please accept my deepest sympathy - she will be sorely missed.

I worked at the U.S. Postal Service in the Federal Building in Bangor. Darla worked upstairs in Social Security, and word got around that she baked and decorated cakes. Every one in the building got to know Darla. No matter what the theme you wanted on the cake, Darla would would do it up in style. She was also a jolly person. I'm so sad to hear of her death. She worked so many years and she and I would always talk about when we retired. My prayers go out to her partner and her family.
