- Dale Russell Gordon, 70, passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2017, at Sebasticook Valley Hospital. He is in the arms of the Lord, walking, talking and visiting with all that have gone on before him. He was born on December 10, 1947, in Hartland, a son of James and Camilla (Chute) Gordon.
Dale will be remembered as a very outgoing person who, even with all his disabilities, worked hard as a young man, and even had a garbage route at the time of his death. He was employed at the Irving Tannery in Hartland for many years and did various other odd jobs. He spent lots of time snowmobiling when he was young; it was likely his favorite sport. Dale loved sitting in his driveway, waving at people as they drove or walked by. The void he leaves in our family will be one that only Dale could fill.
Dale is survived by three brothers and their wives, Trevor and Heather Gordon of St. Albans, Tommy and Kathy Nutter of Ripley, and David and Debbie Nutter of Benton; three sisters and their husbands, Helen and Michael Snowman of Hartland, Holli and John Stedman, and Bonnie and Amos Lawrence all of St. Albans; his stepmother, Sharon Gordon of Hartland; sister-in-law, Rita Gordon of Pittsfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Daryl Gordon and Henry Nutter; and a sister, Margaret Nutter.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 21th at the First Baptist Church in Hartland with the Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartland, P.O. 510, Hartland, ME 04943. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Those who wish may leave written tributes at www.CrosbyNeal.com
