Stetson - Clyde M. Leighton, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016, at a Bangor hospital from injuries from an auto accident on Friday, Nov. 25. He also had a long period of ill health.
Clyde was born on the Family Farm in Stetson, May 1, 1953, the son of Donald and Cynthia (Savage) Leighton, and the youngest of seven siblings. He was educated in Stetson and Corinth schools.
Clyde lived on the family farm his whole life. He worked with his brothers dairy farming for many years. Later they bought a portable saw mill which they ran together along with selling hay.
Clyde enjoyed deer hunting and riding his four wheeler around the farm.
Clyde is survived by one brother Charles Leighton and his wife Janet of Stetson, two sisters Charlene Leighton of St. Albans, Rose Tenney of Dexter, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Richard and Robert, and his sister Rebecca.
Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at the Clark Hill Cemetery in Stetson with Rev Mark Arnold officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Service Center, 34 High Street, Newport, Maine.
