Claudette's Story

Text size

Glenburn - Claudette M. (Dumond) Gagnon, 68, was a flower in God's garden of life. In the late night of November 2, 2017, God picked that flower, and returned it to his everlasting garden. She was born August 2, 1949, in Eagle Lake, the daughter of Claude and Annette M. (Jandreau) Dumond.
Claudette will be deeply missed but not forgotten. She will live on through the memories that are shared by her family, friends, and her church family. Claudette was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bangor. She was very involved in RCIA and loved to share in people's faith journey. We have fond memories of family get-togethers over the holidays, such as Christmas Trivia and birthdays with song and dance. She enjoyed her flower gardens, especially preparing the flowers by the church entrance. Claudette loved to volunteer at the Attic and work with dear friends Leona, Sylvia, Louise, Pilar, and Linda.
In addition to her dear father, she is survived by her loving husband of 49 years and best friend of 52 years, Lawrence "Gene" Gagnon; two children, Tony L. Gagnon and companion, Jennifer Graham of Winterport, Melissa J. Dow and husband, David of Bangor; grandchildren, Derek, Damon, Jack, Darci, Emma, Garrett, Baylee, and Ellen; siblings, Bernice Jalbert and husband, Frank, Jim Dumond and wife, Betty, David Dumond and wife, Rita, George Dumond and companion, Kelly Martin, Ervin Dumond and wife, Carla, Steven Dumond, Dana Dumond and wife, Michelle, and special family friend, Deborah Dumond. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and God children. Claudette was predeceased by her dear mother, Annette, in 2014.
The family would like to express gratitude to the nurses and CNA's of Community Health and Counseling Services Hospice. We would also like to thank her Personal Nurse Kristin Hodge for her devoted care.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 754 Ohio Street, Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to share conversation and refreshments at the Parish Hall of St. Mary's Catholic Church, immediately following the services.
