York - Claire A. (Perry) White, 79, of 117 Long Sands Rd., formerly of Longmeadow, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. She was born Sept. 18, 1937 in Boston, MA a daughter of the late Forrest C. and Helen V. (Torphy) Perry and raised in Brookline, MA by her Aunt and Uncle Everett and Doris Williams.
Claire graduated from Brookline High School in 1955 and The Chandler School for Women, Boston, MA in 1957. She worked as a Legal Secretary for John Hancock Life Ins. Co., Boston, MA prior to her marriage.
Claire leaves her beloved husband of 56 years; Harold G. White, a daughter Allison W. Herrington and her partner Troy Barker and a treasured granddaughter Madeline E. Fritz, all of
York, ME; a son David A. White and his wife Amie of Klamath Falls, OR; a brother John Perry and his wife Sue of Landers, CA; four sisters; Carol Curry and husband John of York, ME, Eleanor Roeger of San Diego, CA, Cathy Bracamonte of Rancho Mirage, CA and Lynn Wallbruch of Calgary, AB,
Canada. and several nieces and nephews. Claire was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. In addition, Claire was a woman
of many talents; Artist, Seamstress, Knitter and the many other crafts she mastered. She was also an Actress with the " Senior Moments " theatrical group. Claire had the ability to lift the spirits of all that she met throughout her life with her humor and forthright personality. She will be sorely missed by all.
A Celebration of Claire's Life will be held in the early summer in York, Maine.
