- Carroll G. York, Sr., 91, husband of Alberta (Norton) York, went home to be with his Lord and Savior October 23, 2017, at his home. He was born July 26, 1926, in Medway, the son of Rupert and Grace (Thompson) York.
Carroll was a devoted member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God in East Millinocket for more than 55 years. He was a welder and piper at Great Northern Paper Co. from where he retired in 1988.
His passion was selling cars and doing things for other people. He was a devoted husband and father. His life was his children and grandchildren. He loved to tell, and listen to, the many hunting and fishing stories and loved to ride to the coast. He was very proud to have served in the US Navy at Corpus Christi, Texas, during WWII. He also loved flying his airplane.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Alberta (Norton) York; his brother, Rudy York and his wife, Teresa; his children, Glen and Gail York, Albert and Donna York, Linda Bouchard, Blane and Dawn York, Danny and Mai York, David and Deanna York, Eddie and Penny York and Wanda and John Van Blarcume; his grandchildren, Doug, Terry, Chris, Rhonda, Karen, Matthew, Jeremy, Steven, Marie, Tammy, Ricky, Jonah, Aaron, Cody, Dylan, Stephen, Caleb, Seth, Josh, Kristin, Jacob and Brittney; several great- and great-great-grandchildren, and a special nephew, George "Phillip" Lyons. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Randy Rupert York; and brothers, Roy York, Ivan York and Cecil York; his sister, Mildred Dierauer; and a special son-in-law, Richard Bouchard.
Friends are invited to visit with his family from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 26, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, East Millinocket, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 with Rev Kendall Sperrey and Rev Wilson Hickam officiating.
