Caroline's Story

Bucksport - Bucksport and Millinocket - Caroline E. (Blake) Pelletier, 79, daughter of the late Charles and Helen Blake of Millinocket, and wife of the late Carroll E. Pelletier, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2017.
Caroline married the love of her life, Carroll, on August 27, 1956 and together they raised six children. Caroline loved being a wife and mother most of all, then cooking for crowds, camping, traveling and making new friends. She had "gypsy" blood for the camping life and being out on the roads - having explored all of the States with the exception of Alaska. She was a shrewd game player, but truly enjoyed playing bridge, numerous card and board games, and bingo with family and friends. Caroline was a talented seamstress who made coats and clothes for her growing family, who knitted and crochet beautiful sweaters, blankets, mittens, and throws.
Caroline was predeceased by her beloved Carroll, and their eldest son, Charles T. Pelletier. Children mourning her passing are Katherine Dunbar and partner Michael Harriman of Bucksport, Rhonda Allen and Fiancé Kirk Dahlgren of Detroit, ME, Mark Pelletier and partner Darlene Rathbun of Coral Springs, FL, Michael and Mary Pelletier of Hobe Sound, FL, and David and Cindy Pelletier of East Orland. Caroline was "Nana" to 12 grandchildren and was extremely pleased that most were able to attend a few recent family gatherings that were planned. She is also survived by her In-Laws Arthur Pelletier of Rochester, NY, Beverly Cooper of Rowley, MA, Marilyn Willey of Millinocket & FL, Geneva Pelletier of Sicklerville, NJ, Dorothy Pelletier of Blackwood, NJ, Nina Pelletier of Millinocket & FL, Cheryl Pelletier of Rumford, and too many Nieces and Nephews to count.
A remembrance and celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 noon on June 7th at Riverview Cemetery located at 1160 River Road, Bucksport, ME followed by a potluck luncheon and gathering at the Edward K. Arey Community Center (adjacent to the cemetery). All family and friends are welcome to join us on that Wednesday.
