LEE - Carissa Jo Babcock, 9 years old, passed away August 29, 2015, in Mattawamkeag. She was born May 4, 2006.

Carissa was a bright star of light and love in the life of anyone she met. She was a dancer at Flippin Fun Dance Studio in Lincoln and In Step Dance and Fitness in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She was looking forward to a new school year at Lee-Winn Elementary, where she would have been entering 4th grade. She loved riding horses, being with friends and family, and music. A little fashionista, Carissa loved to go shopping and accessorize all of her outfits. Carissa loved to be surrounded by people and was a natural at knowing how to care for others. She was an instant friend to anyone she met.

Carissa is survived by two loving parents, father Joshua Babcock and his wife, Heather and mother, Charis Rollins and her fiancé, Joel Dyer; three younger siblings, sister, Jasmine Babcock, half-brother, Owen Dyer and half-sister, Callie Babcock; grandparents, Dale Babcock, Barbara Babcock, Shannon Shaw and Eric and Carl Rollins and Falene; as well as her loving great-grandparents, and many loved aunts, uncles and cousins.

Carissa passed away doing something she loved, spending a beautiful day with her family and friends while swimming at Mattawamkeag Wilderness Park. She was overtaken by the power of nature and found the next day.

Carissa's family would like to thank everyone who has donated and helped in any other way. Your support is appreciated more than words can express.

Friends and family may visit from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday September 2, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln where services for our beautiful rock star will be held 3 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lee. Condolences may be left at
