Captain Peter's Story
EAST MILLINOCKET - Peter A. Larlee, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was born March 10, 1958, in Millinocket, the son of Bernard "Snigg" and Joan (Gates) Larlee.
Peter worked many years at Katahdin Paper in East Millinocket, but his true love was the time he spent as an EMT and Firefighter with the East Millinocket Fire Department. Peter rose to the rank of Captain in the department, and he will be long remembered not only for his contributions to the functions of the department, but also for his willingness to go above and beyond in helping those affected by tragedies. One of the best credits to his tenure is the many young people he mentored and helped achieve their dreams of serving the Emergency Services. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him.
Peter is survived by his wife of 13 years, Susan (Gagnon) Larlee; three daughters, Jimly Harris of Minnesota, Racheal Bousquet and her husband, Jeremy, of Bangor and Robin Larlee of Old Town; two very special granddaughters, Kennedi and Jasmine; a sister, Eloise Boss and her husband, Donald, of New Hampshire; two nieces, Sarah and Michelle; and many friends and beloved colleagues within the FF/EMS community. He was predeceased by his father.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 2 Orchard St., East Millinocket, with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. officiated by the Rev. Regginal Adams, pastor. Gifts in memory of Peter may be sent to the East Millinocket Fire Department and Auxiliary Scholarship, care of Les Brown, 53 Main St., East Millinocket, ME 04430.
