Candyce's Story

BURLINGTON - Candyce V. Hanscom, 74, wife of the late Duane Hanscom, passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, July 27, 2015, at a Belfast hospital. She was born July 23, 1941, in Prentiss, the daughter of William and Mildred (Jipson) Worster.

Candyce loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling and sitting in her screenhouse.

She is survived by three siblings, Carolyn Bartlett and her husband, Wayne, Sr., Douglas Worster and his wife, Suzanne, and Cindee Keene and her husband, Dana; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Sheila Hanscom; two special nieces, Amanda Theriault and her husband, Adam and Joanna Kotara and her husband, Jason; a very special great-nephew, Warren Theriault; many other nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, and her husband, Duane, she was predeceased by a brother, Dwight.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Tony Stewart officiating. A gathering will be held at Lincoln United Methodist Church immediately following the funeral. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
