Detroit and St. Albans
- Calvin Wintle, 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 17, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 16, 1945, in Dexter, a son of James and Joyce (McGowen) Wintle. He graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1962.
Calvin worked at Dexter Shoe Company, was a self-employed poultry farmer in Detroit and retired in 2011 from Hannaford's as a purchasing agent. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and enjoyed working on antique cars.
He is survived by his mother of Dexter; his wife, Patti (Sheehan) Wintle of St. Albans; three sons, Stephen and wife Janet of Ohio, David and wife Rachel of Newburgh, Michael and wife Colleen of Detroit; a step son, David and wife Lisa Lindsey of FL; two step-daughters, Dawn and husband David Johns and Debra and husband John Hahn, all of VA; two brothers, Galen and wife Gayanne of Dexter, Frank and wife Anne Marie of NY; three sisters, Susie Packard of Garland, Sandy and husband Gene Blaney of St. Albans, Darlene and husband Jack King of Levant; 13 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Calvin was predeceased by his first wife, Lana Wintle, on March 19, 2008.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, May 21st, 2017, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1195 Stetson Road, Exeter.
