LINCOLN - Calvin Coolidge Curtis, 84, passed away Jan. 3, 2016, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1931 in Lincoln, the son of George Raymond and Lida Addie (Gordon) Curtis.
Calvin graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1951 and served in the U S Army. He took his basic training in Kentucky and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After he was discharged, he worked on the family farm - Curtis Farm Dairy. After that he worked at American Gear and NAPA until he retired. He was a caring and giving friend to his neighbors at Mattanawcook Terrace.
He is survived by three sisters, Mary, Vicky and Lorena, a brother Gordon, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Melvin, Leola, Dora, Earline and Edwin; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Hannah Curtis; brothers George, Franklin and Newton and sisters Decima, Glendine, Peggy and Joyce. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Bruce Swan officiating.
