- Brian David Mace died December 28, 2017, in Bangor, Maine surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4th, 1946, in Lincoln, Maine to Frederick and Helen (Preble) Mace.
Brian spent his childhood and attended schools in Passadumkeag, Machias, and Bangor. He served in the US Navy for two years of active duty followed by four years in the reserves. After the Navy he established a logging business, which he operated with his father for a number of years.
Brian attended the Tulsa School of Welding, which began his 27 year career with Cianbro Corporation. Brian started out as a pipe welder advancing on to eventually supervise construction of gas, power, and energy projects throughout Southern New England.
After retirement, Brian pursued his true passion, restoring John Deer tractors, through which he developed many new friendships near and far. Exploring the woods and gardening were also sources of enjoyment.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Beverly of Howland; three children, Stacie Ludden of Edinburg, Melanie Mace (Pavan Racherla) of Machias, and Brian Alley of South Ryegate, VT; three precious granddaughters, Lauryn Alley, Jordan Alley, and Helen Racherla- Mace; his stepgrandson, Matthew Ludden and family; three siblings, Christopher Mace (Suzanne), Philip Mace (Becky), and Laura Rand; and many dearly loved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Frederick Mace; brother-in-law, Parker Rand; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Ludden.
Brian will be greatly missed by his extended family and all who knew him. And, as Brian would always say, "Well-ah...it's been good seeing you people..."
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 6th at 1pm at Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
