- Blaine O. Batchelder Sr., 74, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017, after a brief illness. Blaine was born in Burlington to Jerry and Marcia (Curtis).
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Betty (McPhee); and their three children, Blaine Jr. and Kristine, Robert and Cassie, and Shirley and Chuck; seven grandchildren, Blaine and Megan, Jaimee, Bradleigh, Brody, RJ, Josh and Danika; two great-grandchildren, Adrianna and Jaxsyn; one brother, Ronald Batchelder and Carol; and two sisters, Gloria and Robert Dow and Myrtle and Daynel McKenney. He was predeceased by brothers, Roger and Carl; and sister, Althea Fogg.
For many years Blaine worked in the automotive industry, including Applebee Motors and 16 years for A&S Motors. He then went into the woods industry working for Sandy McDonald Logging, Delaite Trucking, Brent Bartlett and finally retiring from Prentiss & Carlisle.
He loved his camp in Grand Falls, and enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing beginning with many great friends and continuing the tradition with both his children and grandchildren.
Anyone who ever met Papa enjoyed his gift to gab, great stories and jolly personality.
A celebration of life will be held at his beloved camp in Grand Falls on Saturday, October 21, at noon.
