Bernice's Story

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA - Bernice Marlene Boyce Kinney, a resident of Virginia Beach, Virginia passed away

on 27 November 2014 surrounded by her loving children and her sister. "Grammy," as she was affectionately known, was born on 2 November 1922 in Chester, Maine, the daughter of Milledge Harmon Boyce, Sr. and Etta Budge Boyce.

She graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1941 and was married to Richard Arthur Kinney of Winn, Maine who preceded her in death on 6 September 2001.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, four of her sisters, Viola B. Stoup, Wynona B. Kelshaw, Luella B. Dicker, Irene B. Nelson and her two brothers, Harmon Boyce and Milledge H. Boyce, Jr.

She is survived by her son Duane and his wife, Ellen of Lancaster, California, her

daughter Brenda of Norfolk, Virginia and her son Dale of Kirbyville, Texas and her

sister Dorothea B. Round of Enfield, Maine. Also surviving are her grandsons

Christopher Kinney and his wife, Carol, Matthew Kinney and Phillip Tarrall, her

granddaughter Stephanie Whittington and her husband, Ed, step-grandchildren

David and Candi, great grandsons Bailey and Dylan Whittington and Colin Kinney,

her great granddaughter Mackenzie Whittington and numerous very much loved

nieces and nephews.

Interment will be in the cemetery in Danforth, Maine at 9:30am on 14 July 2015

followed by a Celebration of her Life at 11:30am on that date at Clay's Funeral

Home in Lincoln, Maine.
