SEARSPORT - Barbara Ann Stawasz, 69, of Searsport, Maine, died May 15, 2015 at a Bangor hospital with her devoted husband and loving family by her side. Born in Nashua, NH on July 27, 1945, she was the daughter of Richard and Barbara A. (McLeod) Flanders.
Barbara graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1964 and was studying to become a nurse when she met and married Albert Stawasz on September 19, 1964 in Hollis, NH. They were happily married for 50 years. She made raising her 4 children her lifelong career. She was a loving and devoted mother and the most wonderful, kind-hearted woman you would ever meet. She felt her life was fulfilled when she was spending time with her family and friends. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren with all of their many accomplishments. Her many hobbies included reading biographies, autobiographies and the bible. She enjoyed watching western movies, making latch-hook rugs and going to outdoor flea markets. When she was able, she enjoyed taking nature walks. She was an avid animal lover and had many pets throughout her life that she adored. She will be dearly missed by everyone that knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents and one daughter, Lynn Ann Stawasz.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Albert, of Searsport, Maine, 4 children, David Stawasz and his wife Felicia of West Virginia, Jean Westfall and her husband Michael of Wakefield, NH, Donna Rossignol and her husband Tim of Caribou, ME, and Lynda Snelson and her husband Craig of Rochester, NH, 8 grandchildren, Scott Rossignol and his wife Jennifer, Kassandra and Kourtenie Rossignol, Brandon and Nicole Westfall, Malakai, Xander and Liliana Snelson as well as one great-grandchild, Kevin James Rossignol, one brother, Paul Flanders and his wife Linda of Newington, NH, one sister, Ruth Ann Ramsdell and her husband Floyd of Rochester, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at 6PM at the Harborlight Square Family Room, 17 W. Main St., Searsport, ME. The burial will take place at a later date in Newington, NH.
