Alice's Story

OLD TOWN - Alice G. Voisine, 86, died peacefully December 22, 2015 at her residence with family by her side. She was born September 22, 1929 in Littleton, a daughter of William H. and Mildred L. (Sewell) Wright.

Alice was a hardworking, kind woman. She was employed at several shoe shops in Maine and Massachusettes and at Kittie Products, Avon, MA where she lived from 1964-1992 returning to Maine during retirement. She was a member of the Grange, Daughters of Isabella, and Scally-wags.

She is survived by 3 children Joyce Spencer of Raynham, MA, Jean Cookson and her husband Alan Sr. of Old Town, Joseph Margison of Old Town; 4 grandchildren Lorie Spencer of Brockton, Alan Cookson Jr. "AJ" and Ashley of Glenburn, Julie Cookson of Old Town, Andrew Margison of Gorham; great grandchildren Danielle, Craig, and Audrey Cookson and Elliott Margison; step children Edward Voisine Jr and his wife Del of Fall River, MA, Jane Roberts of Lewiston, Terry Souza of Fall River, MA; Lorraine Travis of Fall River, MA and Alton Voisine and Roberta of Taunton, MA many step grandchildren and great grand children; two brothers Francis Wright and his wife Betty of Hudson and Arthur Wright and his wife Maria of Palm Bay, FL and a sister Doreen Morrison of FL and the family of Joseph LaBelle Sr. of Maine and a special friend Ella Paige of Old Town. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her second husband Edward Sr., grandson Vernal Spencer Jr., son-in-law Vernal Spencer Sr; four brothers Ronald, James, Joseph, and Michael Wright; step-son Stephen Voisine, daughter-in-law Deborah Margison and predeceased by a special friend Joseph LaBelle Sr.

Friends may call 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old where a funeral service will be conducted 11AM Wednesday.

Burial will be at Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery.
