Agnes's Story

WEST ENFIELD - Agnes A. Christensen, 84, wife of the late James Christensen, Jr., passed away Dec. 2, 2015 at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 19, 1931 in Garland, the daughter of Clarence and Agnes (Scott) Cote.

Agnes loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and everyone who knew Aggie, knew of the love and devotion she had for her special daughter, Shirley. She loved crafts and going to craft fairs and enjoyed playing cards.

Agnes is survived by five children, Linda J. Burgess and John of Knoxville, Tennessee, Shirley D. Christensen of West Enfield, Rick M. Christensen and Denise of Jacksonville, Florida, Laurie D. Babineau and David of West Enfield, Terri L. Ireland and Dale of West Enfield, as well as "my other daughter" Ethel York of Howland; 12 grandchildren, Scott and Sean Stevens, Melissa Christensen, Jennie Graham, Heather Lindsay, Aimee Light, Toni Hallett, Ethan Babineau, Jamie and Andrew McPheters, Dustin Ireland, and Dayerrick Ireland; 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Lillian and Arlene and brothers, Tino, Monty and Junior. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Jack Hyland officiating. Interment will be in West Enfield Cemetery.
