MACHIAS - Raymond A. Beaudoin, 75, loving husband of Kitty Beaudoin, died May 1, 2012, at Downeast Community Hospital, due to complications from Parkinson's disease. He was born in Lewiston, son of Joseph I. Beaudoin and Bertha Sutton Beaudoin. He attended Sts. Peter & Paul Parochial School and graduated from St Dominio's High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Vietnam War, where he was highly decorated while in combat. Among the awards he received were the Bronze Star with combat V and Purple Heart for being wounded in action, and many other medals. He retired from the Navy and worked one year at Machias Post Office and then went to work at the commissary store at Cutler Navy Base, where he retired from civil service. He married the love of his life, Kitty Davis, and joined her family and accepted them for his own. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Roger Beaudoin; and nephew, Ricky Beaudoin. He's survived by his wife; children, Glenn Davis and wife, Dawn, and Paula Lavoie and husband, Wayne, four grandchildren, Brent S. Davis, Jessica R. Hayden and husband, Tim, Michael E. Carter II and Rebeka L. Carter; two great-grandchildren, Michael III and Lorelei; sister-in-law, Georgette Beaudoin; sister, Claudette Bonneau and husband, Maurice; four nephews, Denis Beaudoin, Andrew Bonneau, Frank Bonneau and Philip Bonneau; niece, Michelle Lawrence; several great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. There will be a celebration of Ray's life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the .
