MADISONVILLE, Tenn. - Ruth E. Dennett, 83, formerly of Burlington and Waterville, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012. Born Sept. 28, 1928, in Brewer, she was the daughter of Merle H. and Alice M. Sibley. She graduated from Lee Academy, Lee, and Husson College, Bangor. She was a registered professional court reporter. She owned and operated Econo-Print in Maine and Tennessee. A lifelong country music fan, she founded Down East Country Music Association and served as its president for many years. She was also president of the Patsy Montana International Fan Club. She was involved in the formation of a national organization which made it possible for local entertainers to compete nationally. She was a member of Tellico Plains First United Methodist Church and Cora Veal Senior Center. She was a ceramics instructor for many years. She is survived by daughter, Rebecca Gravely of Gainesville, Fla.; brother and sisters-in-law, Lauris and Vivian Sibley of Enfield and Betty Sibley of Burlington; brother-in-law, William Hazelton of Pompano Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tom and Martha Sinness of Tellico Plains, Tenn., Merna Boynton and Jackie Harmon of Maine. There will be no services. Interment will be at Mount Repose Cemetery, Burlington. Arrangements by Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville, Tenn.
