EDDINGTON - Amy L. Waugh, 90, wife for 55 years to the late John E. Waugh, died April 28, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Aug. 1, 1921, in Machias, the daughter of Lester and Clara (Ingalls) Armstrong. She graduated from Machias High School, class of 1939 and attended Maine School of Commerce, Bangor. Amy lived in Orrington for 32 years. She worked for the town of Orrington from March 1968 to October 1983, the last eight years as town manager. She is survived by her son, David Waugh and his wife, Marylou, of Lakeland, Fla.; two daughters, Peggy Gerald and her husband, Paul, of Eddington and Sharon Leavitt and her husband, David, of Bangor; four grandchildren, Jeff Gerald and his wife, Laurie, of Lucerne, Johnna Smith and her husband, Stanley "Skip," of Newburgh, Daniel Waugh and his wife, Letisha, of Nesbit, Miss., and Eben Waugh and his wife, Sarah, of Dover-Foxcroft; nine great-grandchildren, David McCourt, John Gerald, Matt Spaulding, Haley Spaulding, Brandon J. Waugh, Chloe Waugh, Amy E. Waugh, Brandon P. Waugh and Bronwyn Waugh; several special nieces and nephews. Amy was predeceased by sisters, Dorothy Danforth and Frances Beemiller; brothers, Roscoe, Austin, Millard, Dana and Robert Armstrong; and her very special friend, Reona Pyzynski. Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 2, at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 55 South Main St., Brewer. Relatives and friends are invited to call 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday. Gifts in her memory may be sent to Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mount Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401.
