GILBERT, Ariz. - Paula Rae Lowe Carter passed away April 8, 2012, in Gilbert, Ariz. She was born July 13, 1944, in Machias, daughter of Arline Lowe of Wesley and Louis Lowe. Paula attended Calais Memorial High School and Holy Rosary Commercial School, after which she worked for Georgia Pacific Pulp and Paper in the human resources and public relations departments for 24 years before she moved to Arizona. Paula loved painting, stained glass, woodworking, horseback riding, gardening and anything else she could create with her hands. One passion of her heart was her love of God and her church families. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, LeRoy S. Carter; and Linwood Archer, her beloved father all the years of her life. Paula leaves behind a son, Troy Carter of Chandler, Ariz.; daughter, Jenny Guptill and son-in-law, Allen Guptill, of Baileyville; grandson, Joshua Guptill of Tennessee; granddaughter, Alicia Guptill and fiance, Chip Smith, and great-granddaughter, Karleigh Smith, of Levant; and half sister, Sandy Gordon of Florida. She was a remarkable person, loving mother and our best friend. She will be missed by many friends and relatives. Remembrance services will be held 3 p.m. April 21 at Faith Family Fellowship Church, Ocotillo Road, Queen Creek, Ariz. In remembrance donations may be made to ; Family Faith Church; or Woodland Baptist Church, Baileyville. There will be graveside services at a future date in Maine.
