OLD TOWN - Clayton Madden, 48, went home to be with the Lord April 9, 2012, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital, after a sudden illness. Clay was born March 7, 1964, in Bangor. He attended Greenbush School and graduated from Old Town High School. Family was a very important part of his life. He enjoyed holidays and family get-togethers. Clay's favorite pastimes were riding his four-wheeler, and following the Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots. He also enjoyed watching his nieces and nephews play different sports. He is survived by his father, Gayland Madden; mother, Janis (Carroll) Madden; brother, Richard Madden and wife, Kelly; and brother, Ryan Madden and wife, Carrie, all of Greenbush. He also is survived by special grandparents, Linwood and Dolly Carroll. He was very fond of and loved his nieces and nephews, Justin, Jamie, Kayla and Dakota, also of Greenbush. He also had a special great-nephew, Hunter Madden of Greenbush. There were many happy memories of the times spent with them. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Alson and Evelyn Madden; as well as uncles, Kyle, Keith, Alson Jr. and Fremont Madden. He also was predeceased by uncle, Maurice Boyington; aunt, Ernestine Madden; and a special great-aunt, Sharon Smart. Clay was an encourager to many. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors and friends. He will be remembered by his friend and caregiver, Robin Cody. There will be a graveside service 1 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Main Road Cemetery, Greenbush, with the Rev. Aaron Webb officiating. There will be a celebration of Clay's life afterward at Helen S.
