BANGOR AND BREWER - Gertrude "Trudy" St. Peter, 89, wife of 63 years to the late, Albeo M. St. Peter, died Saturday, June 7, 2014 at a Bangor hospital. She was born in Connor, March 28, 1925, the daughter of Peter and Donalda (Morin) DesJardin.

Mrs. St. Peter and her husband owned and operated Mt. Hope Variety, Bangor for several years. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Mrs. St. Peter was predeceased by two sons, Larry and Lloyd; and by four brothers, Edgar, Clayton, Clarence and Wesley, and by one sister, Antoinette Erskine. She is survived by five children, Wayne St. Peter and his wife, Mona of Kenduskeag; Donna McLaughlin and her husband, Michael of Brewer; Eric St. Peter and his wife, Joan of Bar Harbor; Dale St. Peter of Glenburn; David St. Peter and his wife, Patricia of Glenburn; two special daughters-in-law, Jennifer Fogel and Ruth Coffey; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, Priscilla "Pat" Walsh of Shirley, MA; Pearl Walters of Florrisant, MI; Grace Guldan of Hudson, WI; one brother, Conrad Desjardins of Lakeland, FL.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish St. John's Catholic Church, 207 York St., Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor, after the service.
