HOLDEN - Valier Caron, 80, also known as "Dad" to most of his family and friends, formerly of Fort Kent, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was recently predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Velma Caron.

He is survived by his children, Beverly Caron and Jim Wereszczynski of Bangor, Donna Papa and fiancé, Kevin Clarke, of Florida, Rena and Mark Toomey of Holden, Wanda Caron of Brewer, Gregory Caron of Holden and Elaine and Joe White of Eddington; grandchildren, Shawn and Mindy Bouchard, Brandon Fell and Annie Cox, Shannon Fell, Sheila Toomey and Micah Raymond, Catherine Jalbert, Jennifer Jalbert, Sarah Caron, Molly Caron, Douglas Graham, Travis and Heather Wood and Logan White; great-grandchildren, Hailey Bouchard, Parker Bouchard, Travis Wood Jr., Sophia Cox and Bentley Fell; many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by twin great-grandchildren, Owen and Oliver Wood.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Brewer. Burial will be at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Augusta, at a later date.
