SULLIVAN - Troy Glenn Adams, 72, died Aug. 8, 2012, at his residence. He was born Jan. 13, 1940, in Reedley, Calif., the son of Forrest Talmadge and Rosa Mae (Auten) Adams.

Troy served in the U.S. Air Force as an engineer during the Vietnam War, and served for 20 years at various bases throughout the world. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for five years and served as a clergy in the Downeast area for 30 years and also in Ellsworth at Church of Christ. He was an avid sailor and owned a beautiful sailboat, Blitz. Troy also volunteered for the restoration of Sumner Park, Sullivan.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Mary Kate (King) of Sullivan; sons, Troy Adams Jr. and wife, Laurie, of Tulsa, Okla., Keith Young of Cherryfield and Kingsley Adams and wife, Megan, of Randolph; daughters, Marigold Adams Clark and husband, Jason, of Hutto, Texas, Amber Rose Crowtree of Unity, N.H., and Florida Anne Knowles and husband, Lyle, of Travis Air Force Base, Calif.; grandchildren, Seth, Lelani and Sarah Adams, Cameilla Rose, Caryl Ann Young, Surrie and Kanyon Adams, Jackson and Lilly Clark, Cassie and Alicia Knowles; sisters, Betty Lou of Rochester, N.Y., and Alice Coster and husband, John, of Long Beach, Calif.; many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Blaisdell Cemetery, Sullivan. Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
