BROWNVILLE JUNCTION - Shirley Mae Dean, 91, wife of the late Stanley L. Dean, died Feb. 3, 2013, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Oakfield, daughter of Wellesley H. and Mary (Boulier) Slauenwhite.
Shirley enjoyed watching TV, especially the "Lawrence Welk Show," and watching the deer graze outside her bay window at her home in Brownville Junction. She was especially proud that she got her driver's license at age 70! Shirley was a member of Bernard Jones American Legion Post No. 92 Auxiliary and Brownville Junction United Methodist Church.
She is survived by four sons, Ronald Dean and wife, Betty, of Barnard and Florida, George Dean and wife, Karen, of Brownville Junction, Michael Dean and companion, Jackie, of Milo, and Pastor Stephen Dean Sr. and wife, Glenna, of Abbot and Brownville Junction; daughter, Patricia Jones and husband, Bernard, of Menifee, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Ila Dean of Barnard and Colleen Rockwell of Oakfield; 13 grandchildren, Ronald Dean Jr., Donald Dean, Joseph Dean, Gregory Dean, Gary Dean, Justin Dean, James Dean, Robert Dean, Susan Jones Franco, Evangeline Jacobs, Bernie Jones Jr., Christopher Jones and Stephen Dean Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Donald; seven brothers, James, Garfield, Clifford, Lawrence, Lemuel, Leonard and Clair; sister, Muriel Smith; and granddaughters, Sheila and Sandra.
Services will be announced at a future date. Burial will be in the family lot at Pine Tree Cemetery, Brownville Junction. Arrangements are in the care of Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Messages of condolence and memories may be expressed at
