ALTON and BREWER - Scott J. Reed, 43, died unexpectedly Nov. 19, 2012, at his residence in Alton. He was born April 7, 1969, in Bangor, the son of David and Patricia (McKenzie) Reed.

Scott was a 1987 graduate of Bangor High School and was a graduate of the University of Maine. He worked for Gunn's Sports Shop, Orono, and later in Brewer, and he also worked in his family business, Reed's Auto Body, Brewer, for several years.

He is survived by his parents of Brewer; his brother, Patrick Reed of Brewer; his sister, Rebecca Reed of Carmel; paternal grandfather, Gardner Reed and his wife, Lona, of Port Orange, Fla.; aunts, Carol Archer and her husband, Tim, of Brewer, Cheryl Lynch and her husband, Tom, of Hermon and Marguerite Gosselin and her husband, Edmond, of Veazie; an uncle, Richard McKenzie and his wife, Mary Jane, of Sebec; and many cousins. He will be missed by his two labs, Brady and Piper.
